There usually is several post offices (Bưu điện) in any city in Vietnam, so it is very easy to send (Thư) mail.
Make sure to check out the opening hours (Giờ mở cửa) of your nearest post office, as they might differ from place to place.
If you have a registered address in Vietnam, the mailman (Người đưa thư) will regularly come and deliver any mail you might receive (Nhận).
Here are some items you could send at the post office (yes, telegrams are not used anymore but there’s no harm learning how to say it):

- Parcel | Bưu kiện

Depending on the branch you are visiting you can also do wire transfers (Chuyển tiền).
To send out a letter or a parcel you will need to fill out a document with the usual details:
First, fill in the name (Tên) and family name (Họ) of both the sender (Người gửi) and receiver (Nguời nhận).
Secondly, you will need the address (Địa chỉ) and the ZIP code or post code (Mã bưu chính).
The price of the envelope (Bao thư) and postage stamp (Tem bưu chính) will depend on:
- The rate of postage (Giá cước)
- Either you choose standard (Tiêu chuẩn) or economical (Tiết kiệm) shipping
- The weight of your item (Cân nặng)
