FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long are classes?
This depends and what works best for your child.
Kids normally work best with a 60 minute session, but for teenagers a 90-120 minute session generally works best in our experience.
Is there anyway I can help support my child during class?
Helping your child to set things up in the first few classes is a big help.
For example, make sure all Bluetooth devices are disconnected as they can block the microphone or speakers.
Make sure your child is properly prepared for class. Things like having some water there, being well fed etc.
Give the Internet a test run before class as well just to make sure everything is working smoothly.
I have two/three children, can they study together?
Absolutely.
In fact children studying together qualify for our 20% discount (as shown above).
What happens if my child doesn’t finish their classes within the time period?
If your child has not finished all their online classes within the class validity, you simply apply for an extension free of charge.
To do this you can just drop us a message.
You can extend your child’s classes validity for up to two years without any extra cost.
Should I watch over the class?
There is no need to do so but if your child is younger it might be worth watching over the first couple of lessons, or at least being in the same room.
Once a rhythm is built up after a few classes the need to be around tends to disappear.
Do I need to download anything for the class?
Teaching materials are available for kids which the teacher will provide.
Only thing you should prepare for the first lesson is Zoom if you don’t have it already.
Can I sign my kid up for other language classes?
Absolutely no problem.
We teach far more than just Cantonese.
Mandarin is where we made our name but there are many other languages of the far east we offer also including Shanghainese, Vietnamese and many more!
There’s never a better time to learn a language than when young!
What ages qualify to study the Cantonese for Kids programs?
Children up to the age of 18 can apply.
Typically we teach kids as young as 7, but we can look at teaching younger if you so wish.
