成都 Chengdu – 赵雷

Zhao Lei (赵雷 zhào léi) is a famous singer in China, he is most famous for singing Chinese folk music. He was born in Beijing in 1986.

He had an offer to go to university, but decided that he didn’t want to go. Instead, he followed his heart and kept writing songs and performing them.

The city of Chengdu’s slow and laid back atmosphere makes Zhao Lei particularly fond of this city.

In fact, Chengdu has become Zhao Lei’s second hometown and this song can be seen as his love song for the city.

成都 Chengdu – I am a Singer

成都 Chéngdū is such a popular song Zhao Lei was invited to perform it on the fifth series of the show I Am a Singer (我是歌手 wǒ shì gē shǒu).

I Am a Singer is a Chinese music show which has eight seasons (although the name changed after the fourth season).

Each episode seven popular and professional singers are invited to perform on the show and compete against each other to become the winner of the season.
